Happy International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) 2022! IDPD was first proclaimed by theUnited Nations in 1992 with the goal of increasing awareness of disability issues and encouraging action to support the wellbeing, dignity and rights of people with disabilities around the world.
IDPD is also a time to celebrate the contributions of people with disabilities and to consider the theme of the year. The theme for IDPD 2022 is “Transformative solutions for inclusive development: the role of innovation in fuelling an accessible and equitable world“. To learn more about what this means, you can visit the United Nations IDPD 2022 website.
